USING GRO-KASHI

Utilize your soil to the max with GRO-KASHI probiotic farming. We recommend getting intimate with the soil and letting the concepts slowly grow on you. Soon, humanity will be leaving the synthetics behind. The best and most sustainable way to grow the finest food and medicine for human health is with nature.

FOLIAR SPRAY INSTRUCTIONS

Brew GRO-KASHI tea over 24 hours in 1 gallon of water, add 50-100 mL of molasses to sweeten brew. We suggest brewing the GRO-KASHI a tea bag. The same GRO-KASHI tea bag can be reused over a few days.

Strain GRO-KASHI from solution.

Mix and spray.

Using GRO-KASHI Foliar Sprays will cover the plants in prebiotics, along with a weeks supply of  vitamins and minerals to give plants an immunity booster.

SIMPLE GRO-KASHI SOIL MIX

Main Soil Components

2/3 soil-less medium (e.g. coco fiber)

1/3 large perlite/vermeculite for aeration

1-2% GRO-KASHI

Mulch Dressing (top layer)

1/3 cup of Dolomite/Azomite per square foot of soil

1/2 inch of cacao shells and GRO-KASHI

1 inch of compost (e.g. Malibu’s Biodynamic Compost)

*Apply Mulch Dressing every two to three weeks

USING A BRIX METERS

Use a BRIX meter, to determine when more top-dressing is needed. BRIX is a good indication of nutritional uptake and overall healthy of a plant by measuring the sugar, minerals and nutrient density within the plant.

When your BRIX numbers drop, build a new mulch layer to give the mycelium a more food.

We treat our GRO-KASHI creation process as if we were treating a human with a fertility issue.” says Alan, “Our goal is to give Mother Earth the ingredients she would need to produce healthy life here on earth.

THE LEIPZIG’S LAW OF MINIMUM

The plant will do only well if it has all the nutrients it needs. If we do not re-amend or top-dress more compost every few weeks, we may bump into the Law of Minimum, where the plant begins to show deficiency because one or more of its essential nutrients is no longer available. Because GRO-KASHI enhances soil life, and increases the uptake and breakdown of soil nutrients, we often find the need to re-amend with more good stuff.

Watering is often a factor in the Law of Minimum. Fortunately, with the self-watering sub-irrigated planters, we provide a continual water source that allow the plant to focus on building flowers rather than searching for water. (Learn more about Sub-Irrigated Planters below)

Continual amendment of compost and minerals to prevent depletion is crucial. Top dress and re-amend with compost, or earthworm castings, and GRO-KASHI every couple of weeks. It is common for plants to use up all the nutrition in the soil. The plants uptake more with GRO-KASHI.

MICROBES LOVE TRACE MINERALS

AZOMITE® is an acronym for the “A to Z of minerals including trace elements”. An estimated 30 million years ago, a volcanic eruption filled a nearby seabed. The unique combination of seawater, fed by rivers rich in minerals and rare earth elements present in the volcanic ash created the composition known as the AZOMITE® mineral deposit.

SUB-IRRIGATED PLANTERS (ANAEROBIC HYDROPONICS)

We highly recommend learning about the sub-irrigated technology that puts soil gardening heads above most hydroponic setups. By creating a steady supply of water for the plants to drink from, the plants stay perfectly watered until harvest. The anaerobic environment supercharges the composting and uptake action while defending the soil system from any pathogens.

The two main concepts for individual planters come from EARTHBOX and GLOBAL BUCKET. Global buckets is the DIY version with 5 gallon paint buckets. (http://www.globalbuckets.org/)

This concept is biomimicry at its finest. Create a grow system that takes a lesson from how nature works and reduces water and nutrient use while increasing yields and saving time with the Global Bucket or Earthbox system!

Plants and microbes in nature are used to having underground sources of water, so we provide a underground watering system that prevents over-watering and under-watering forever! Compost or super soil amendments in the top dressing mimics the fertile topsoil that the microbials break down and feed to the plant. Essentially we are also mimicking a human stomach and we are growing our plants right out of the active fermentation.

Planter boxes which hold water and create a perfect anaerobic environment! Immediately increase water retention and yields while growing nutrient and flavor dense plants. Sub-irrigated planter boxes make plants think they have over 3 x the amount of root space.

Watch as inches of top dressing and all amendments disappear in weeks! The plastic cover over these boxes prevents the air/light pruning that prevents the microbes from fully reaching the surface. The mycelium will quickly breakdown and intelligently provide the plant with everything it needs to thrive.

HOW TO BUILD YOUR OWN PROBIOTIC SUB-IRRIGATED PLANTER (SIP)
This probiotic farming technique, anaerobic hydroponics, was developed by Alan Adkisson.

INGREDIENTS
Soil-less Mix
30% 1/2 Vermiculite & 1/2 Perlite Mix
60% Soil-less Medium – Sunshine #4 or Pro-Mix
10% GRO-KASHI
Raw cacao shells
Azomite
Dolomite
Malibu’s Biodynamic Compost

SIP1
Begin with an Earthbox SIP.

SIP2
Firmly compress drenched soi-lless mix to ensure wicking.

SIP3
Add dolomite and azomite. Dolomite lime neutralizes the soil.

SIP4
Plant starts go directly into wet soil-less medium.

SIP5
Add an inch layer of raw cacao shells, amazing food.

SIP6
Add a layer of GRO-KASHI with cacao to create the mulch layer.

SIP7
Create a compost mound. This mimics the nutritional mulch layer in nature.

SIP8
Leave space around the base of the plant without GRO-KASHI or compost.

SIP9
Cover mulch with plastic to prevent light penetration and create anaerobic environment.

SIP10
Fill SIP reservoir with freshly-brewed GRO-KASHI tea and some molasses. Keep her reservoir watered to prevent a break in the water flow.

SIP11
This 92 OGK has been perfectly watered and fed from birth, all natural.

SIP12
A few more weeks to go, this lady has not stopped swelling.
